 First let me gush (again) about Blake Crouch. He is one of the most innovative and creative authors in our current literary world. His books always move to the top of my “to be read list” anytime I see he has a new release. I have read many of his books and none of them are the same. They keep me interested from page one until the end. That is very high praise coming from someone like myself who reads a ton of books. Blake’s writing is always exciting because I rarely have a clue where the story will end up. This collection of short stories is no different from his previous books. While we are following the same character, each novella is unique unto itself. The first two stories “The Pain of Other’s” and “Sunset Key” especially kept my attention and made me want to stay up late finishing them. The last story “Grab” was good and exciting, but I found this one slightly predictable. I cannot wait to see Letty Dobesh brought to life on the television screen coming this November! Letty is a strong, witty and well written character. She is a flawed anti-hero that you actually feel compassion for and want to see succeed.
