A couple of months back I wrote a blog post looking for guest bloggers who would be interested in writing for my page Book It Forward. I didn’t get too many responses but what I did get was QUALITY writing from Alyssa Marie whose blog A Readers Journey is full of wonderful content and great reviews. I highly recommend that you subscribe to her blog. Alyssa’s list of thrillers coming out in 2018 includes Jane Harper’s Force of Nature which will be released in February. I was fortunate enough to receive a copy of it from the Publisher and can tell you it’s wonderful! My review will be posted the day of its release February 6, 2018.  Enough from me…take it away Alyssa!

2018_thrillers

Hey guys! It’s Alyssa from A Reader’s Journey and I’m excited to be doing a guest post with Aimee here at Book It Forward! Since we’re getting closer to a new year, I thought I would write about a few upcoming releases for next year that I’m really looking forward to!

There were so many 2018 releases to choose from, so I kept it to the 5 most anticipated thrillers that I can’t wait to read. Some of these I have ARCs for, so I may be reading them earlier than their release dates.

Paper Ghosts by Julia Heaberlin – April 17, 2018

Pre-Order on Amazon

This past October, I read Black-Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin, and I was seriously intrigued by her writing. When I found out that she has a new release next year, I jumped at the chance to get an ARC, which I did! This story focuses on a young woman who has been planning to infiltrate the life of a man whom she believed kidnapped and murdered her sister years ago. I’ve never read anything remotely like this, so I’m glad to get the chance to read it!

Force of Nature by Jane Harper – February 6, 2018

Pre-Order on Amazon

Jane Harper has been talked about all year. Her novel, The Dry, was Amazon’s pick for best thriller of 2017, and Force of Nature is a continuation of that story. I received Force of Nature in a Goodreads giveaway, so OBVIOUSLY I had to buy The Dry. Force of Nature follows five women who go on a hike, but only four return. Aaron Falk is a Federal Agent who has taken an interest in the case, and he manages to discover devastating secrets. Looks like a good one!

The Outsider by Stephen King – June 5, 2018

Pre-Order On Amazon

Stephen King is synonymous with horror and thriller, so it’s no surprise that he’s one of my favorite authors! An eleven-year-old boy was found murdered in a park, with evidence leading to a local beloved baseball coach, a family man with a wife and family. Detective Ralph Anderson is on the case, investigating the murder and why a man with an airtight alibi is the prime suspect with foolproof DNA evidence. King’s writing is stunning, so I’m hoping this story is no different!

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks – January 9, 2018

Pre-Order On Amazon

I have seen this book all over the Internet and Instagram, and I put in a request for an ARC of it. Regardless, I plan on getting this book. No synopsis I write can explain this book better than its own, so here it is!

“When you read this book, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are reading about a jealous wife and her obsession with her replacement. You will assume you are reading about a woman about to enter a new marriage with a man she loves. You will assume the first wife was a disaster and that the husband was well rid of her. You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships. Assume nothing.”

Plus, it comes out on my birthday, so I think it’s fate I read this book!

The Chalk Man by C.J. Tudor – January 9, 2018

Pre-Order on Amazon

The Chalk Man is by a debut author, and I’ve heard nothing but great things about this book! Another birthday release for me, I was approved for the eARC of this novel and I can’t wait to get started! This novel takes place in the past and the present, with a group of friends in the past using little chalk men as a secret code. In the present, Eddie, fully grown, receives a letter in the mail with a single chalk man on the paper. His friends get the same message, and then one of them turns up dead. They have to dig into their pasts and uncover buried secrets in order to figure out what really happened in the past. Can’t wait!

These are the thrillers I’m most excited for in 2018, but as you can see, they all only come out in the first half of the year. I’m sure there will be plenty more thrillers I’m eager to read in the second half of 2018. Stay tuned to find out!

Thanks again to Alyssa! This was a was wonderful list. Happy Holidays Everyone from your friends at Book It Forward and A Reader’s Journey.
