While this may not be my favorite novel by Chris Bohjalian, it was still very entertaining. The character of Cassie is broken in ways that many of us do not understand and cannot relate to, but she was written in a way that made me empathize with her. The murder mystery at the heart of this story is enriched by wonderful details about real criminal organizations and investigative bureaus. I read this book quickly and found myself picking it up to read during middle of the night feedings of my 8 week old baby. Sometimes, I had a hard time falling back asleep because my mind was whirring thinking about where this story was going. Great book, easy read!
